Beloved Friends – Denise Park

Chartered Physiotherapist

Denise qualified as a physiotherapist in 1984 and started working with mountain runners in 1989. In 2004, she became Physiotherapist to the England Mountain Running Team, and also started working closely with Anna Pichrtova (now Strakova). Since 2004, she has worked with 9 Mountain Running World Champions, including the 6 times World Champion, Jonathan Wyatt from New Zealand.
In 2008, she was accredited by the World Mountain Running Association in recognition of her work with mountain runners and was also asked to write a chapter in a medical textbook when she was recognised as the world leading expert in mountain running injuries.

Denise has travelled around the world helping athletes at mountain races, and she met Cornelia, Silvia, Adi and Mihai in 2014 when she was working at the Sierre-Zinal Race in Switzerland. They remained in contact, and this year Denise is delighted that she can attend our event.
She has been told about the lovely people and stunning scenery, so she is really excited about her first trip to Romania. She is passionate about helping runners achieve their goals and feels privileged to be able to do her work whilst surrounded by beautiful mountains. “I am always happy when I am in the mountains and I love helping runners to run – whether they are the first or the last in the race. I understand how important running is to everybody who runs.”
Denise is looking forward to meeting everyone associated with the race and will be available for help, advice and treatments.
