Places to visit on Bran-Moieciu area:
Bran Castle:
It is situated near Bran and in the immediate vicinity of Brasov, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress is situated on the border between Transilvania and Valachia, 2 historic regions. Commonly known as “Dracula’s Castle” (although it is one among several locations linked to the Dracula legend, it is marketed as the home of the titular character in Bram Stocker’s “Dracula”. There is evidence, however, that Vlad Tepes actually did use the castle during his raids into Transylvania.
The castle is now a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie. Tourists can see the interior individually or by a guided tour. At the bottom of the hill is a small open air museum park exhibiting traditional Romanian Peasant structures (cottages, barns, etc.) from across the country.

Rasnov Fortress:
Rasnov Fortress is located on a rocky hilltop in the Carpathian mountains, 200m above the town of Rasnov in Romania. It is 15 km southwest of Brasov and also about 15 km from Bran Castle. The fortress is on the Bran Pass, a trade route connecting Wallachia with Transylvania. The view from the top of the castle hill is spectacular.

‘La Bisericuta’ Peak:
Is the highest point from Moieciu de Sus village and it is also a “picturesque” over the whole village and the surroundings. The peak is situated on the bordering ridge between the 2 main valleys of Moieciu de sus:Bangaleasa Valley and Popii Valley.
To reach “La Bisericuta” peak you must ascend the ridge from the center of Moieciu de Sus village on a trail that lead directly to the peak.
The 3rd loop of Salomon EcoRun Moieciu covers this trail. The ascent is steep at the beginning but over the course it becomes more flat.
Dambovicioarei Gorge:
The Dambovicioarei Gorge is 2 km long and is located on the Rucar-Bran corridor in Podul Dambovitei. The Dambovicioara springs on the southern face of ‘La Om’ Peak (2230m) from the Piatra Craiului Mountains and is one of the tributaries of Dambovita River. The Dambovicioarei gorge has an impressive appearance and is part of a series of at least 20 gorges located in the river basin of Dambovita. In this area there are many caves such as Dambovicioara Cave, Gura Defileului Cave, Labyrinth Cave.
